Our staff doctors perform a full array of surgical procedures at Lockridge Animal Hospital such as routine spays/neuters, bladder surgery for the removal of stones, intestinal foreign body retrieval, mass removals, cruciate ligament repair and much more. In addition to our staff doctors we are fortunate to have a long relationship with several surgical specialists. These specialists are available to come to our hospital to perform special orthopedic procedures as well as other more complex soft tissue surgeries.
Our surgical suite has state of the art monitoring instrumentation. All surgical patients are continually monitored by our trained surgical technicians using our Mindray PM9000 surgical monitor. This monitors EKG, blood pressure, pulse oximetry (measuring blood oxygen) , end tidal carbon dioxide (to detect quality of respirations) and temperature. We maximize safety by providing pre-anesthetic blood profiling before surgery and placing and intravenous catheter and administering intravenous fluids during every procedure. Anesthetic protocols are tailored with specific regard to the patient’s age, health status and medical condition. Patients also receive pain management protocols tailored to their individual needs.
